http://www.woodturner.org The American Association of Woodturners website.   Site contains forums, numerous galleries, and some links to resources that were particularly good.  One was the most comprehensive listing of trees and images of their wood that I have ever seen.   The wood photos actually show 3 different cuts of the wood, transverse, radial and tangential. Another nice resource is a listing of toxic woods along with their respective reaction, site, potency, source and incidence rate.   And finally the site also has a tree identification feature which will provide the name of a tree by asking you questions about the tree’s leaves.
